In a statement issued on Wednesday, the utility firm said that most customers in the affected areas have now seen normal service return, with water pressure and quality back to expected levels. The remaining outages are being handled on a street-by-street basis, with crews focusing on isolated sections where repairs are more complex.
Local residents had reported significant inconvenience since the problem emerged, with schools and businesses temporarily closing in some zones. South East Water attributed the initial fault to a burst main and subsequent pressure loss, which triggered emergency protocols and the deployment of tankers to vulnerable customers, including the elderly and those with medical needs.
